GCSE 5-a-day Maths Practice Questions
Check out the link below to help your child prepare for their maths GCSE.
5 questions to answer each day on a variety of topics. They should pick the level of challenge based on what grade they are hoping to achieve (by all means encourage them to try more than one level of questions!). Get them to bring their answers into school and one of the maths staff will check them over.
Year 11 Maths Revision Homework Quizzes
Students can log on to the website below for a weekly homework quiz set by Mr Thorley for all Year 11 students. The quiz goes live at 9am Monday morning and then shuts down at 5pm Friday evening. There are two levels of difficulty, one foundation, one higher (any students wanting to sit the higher GCSE should have a go at both quizzes as they need all the content for the higher paper).
Each weekend the results will be analysed and then areas for improvement shared with the students.
Study Tuesday Support Sessions
Every Tuesday the Maths faculty runs a drop in support day. We encourage students to come along and get additional help with any aspect of their maths they may be struggling with. This may be revisiting work covered in lessons, help with homework or simply to practice something they have already been taught. The study support sessions are also an opportunity for students to re-sit any assessments they have taken in order to improve their results. The sessions run before school starts (8am to 8:45am), during the lunch break (12:15pm to 12:55pm) and after school (3pm to 4pm). All students are welcome to attend.
